Northern Ireland Costal Engagement Session

August 19, 2018

I was scrolling on instagram one day when I noticed this gorgeous location. It was Kinbane Castle and I knew I HAD to shoot there. The rocky, green mountains tops met with waves of the north coast sea  was a combination I couldn't resist.  I decided to see if I could find a couple who recently got engaged that would be interested in shoot there. Low and behold I found Rebekah (Bex) & Rob !

Now, I've been doing this for a little while  - I work with people on a day to day basis  but I still get nervous when I meet people for the first time. Especially when I'm about to get in their car and trust them to drive me somewhere in the hope that they aren't going to try and shave my skin to wear it.

When I met Bexs, I just felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I know photographers are suppose to say lovely things about their clients in their blogs, but honestly - this was different.  We shared the same heart for things - passions and viewpoints. She's the type of person that I imagine sitting with, good coffee in hand while i settle in for encouraging, challenging and thought provoking chats.

These guys were full of joy, movie quotes and chatty as can be. My favourite kind of human. One of the things I loved about these two is the confidence they have in their love for one another. Watching the way they interacted with one another demonstrated what its like to be sold out for your person. It really is like their one person split into two different bodies - soul mates, best friends, and undeniably besotted with each-other.

Shoots like this make me thankful, thankful for home, thankful for the creator that gives us beautiful canvases  like this in our everyday, and thankful for people who bring a little more joy into life.

I hope you enjoy the photos.
